Saturday Gala Night, playing for us: Koichiro Suzuki. Koichiro, earned his Master’s Degree in Music Performance at Duquesne University and has performed Euphonium internationally since 1996. Koichiro incorporates his complex music background and deep understanding of musicality into his DJing. He is the founder of the annual Pgh Tango Fierro Marathon & Festival in Pittsburgh, PA, and has DJ’ed in many cities in the United States, Argentina, Canada, Cyprus, Mexico, and Japan. In this year 2021 Koichiro DJed for the “Las Carolinas” Tango Marathons (Charlotte, NC) “Las Carolinas 2.0” Tango Marathons (Franklin, TN), and at the Windy City Tango Festival (Chicago, IL). After Pacific Rim Tango Marathon (Seattle, WA), he will DJ at Charleston Tango Weekend, Boston Tango Marathon, Marcos and Florencia Tango Weekend in Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Tango Fierro Marathon, Tango Maya (Cancun, Mexico), Bourbon Tango Festival (Louisville, KT), La Pantera Milonga (Charlotte, NC), the 25th Anniversary Rhythm & Motion Milonga (Toronto, Canada) among other events. In 2022 Koichiro was invited to DJ Toronto Tango Marathon (Toronto, Canada), Austin Spring Tango Festival (Austin, TX), Koichiro lives in Pittsburgh PA, where he teaches tango and DJs regularly.
